This Family Tree was conscientiously and carefully compiled by me in 1878 based on the following sources:
I. A copy of a family tree edited by Georg von Pfaundler, crown land administration [1] archivist, accompanied by “family notes.”
II. A family tree made by my father of his side.
III. Excerpts from the “Raitbuche” (internal record book), i.e., a record of the sovereigns’ expenditures in the archives of the crown land administration; prepared mostly by the emperor’s councilor and archivist, Mr. D. Schönherr, and partly by myself.
IV. Excerpts from the baptismal, marriage, and death records of the city parish, dating back to 1580.
V. Existing letters, documents, personal announcements, births, deaths, and marriages, especially the family registers of Hanns Pfaundler beginning in 1562, continued by almost all the sons.
The preservation and continuation of this family tree is recommended to all following generations!
Innsbruck, Sept. 10, 1878. L. Pfaundler

Translation Note [1]: Since there was no unitary Habsburg state, each Land (or “crown land”) needed a vice-regent figure who exercised authority in the name of the absent monarch or on the basis of delegated powers. This person was called the Statthalter and usually translated as "governor" by historians; however, since this is referring to the administrative office, I’ve translated it as the “crown land administration” vs. “governor’s office.”
