Ferriss Sends Tickets to Each Series Tilt to Former Coach MANCHESTER, N. H., Sept. 26— [Page 12, 1946]
James M. Flack, personnel manager at a local textile mill, is the envy tonight of baseball fans and others who'd like to see the World Series. He has six tickets for the series two for each game to be played in Boston.
How come? He was baseball coach in Shaw. Miss., when the Red Sox star hurler, David "Boo" Ferries, attended high school. He was Dave's mentor for four years of high school and semipro pitching.
Flack and Ferriss have been close friends many years. Ferriss was the best man at Flack's wedding, and is godfather of Flack's 11-year [2 ½-year]-old son, Mimmy [likely "Jimmy"].
Flack saw Ferriss nip the Yanks, 4 to 3, in August. He predicts the Sox will win, regardless of opponents. Cardinals or Dodgers. He figures the series will go five or six games.
