      Kodiak Air Station, AK - 10/3/1945

      8 crew members died and 7 survived when a landing was attempted. Plane crashed into the NE slope of Old Woman Mountain, adjacent to the air station.

      Frank was USN Radio Electrician's Mate. He was thirty-five years old.

      In 1948, Robert Frank Flack, (the son of Frank's brother James M. Flack) was named in Frank's honor.

    Jewell Franklin Flack was a U.S. Navy warrant ofAcer during WWII. He was killed in action on October 3, 1945 during a plane crash near Kodiak, Alaska. He was thirty-five years old. His final resting place was in Eureka at Ocean View cemetery. He was survived by his wife Eleanor Flack; his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Jesse James Flack; his siblings, Ruby Sweetman, Ann Heard & Jas. Flack; and his mother-in-law, Hancie Dillon.
